The KELTEC KV125-017 separator element is located inside the air oil separator tank and separate the compressed air from the residual oil coming out of the compression bloc.
The air oil separator tank normally has a preliminary mechanical separator to remove most of the liquid oil, the element function is to capture the mist created by the flow and velocity of the mix getting into the tank.
The top-hat style air oil separators are installed inside a separator tanks with a gasket and a grounding wire. They normally need to be changed anywhere between 4000 hr and 8000 hr depending on the parts.
